Baltic Workboats is delighted to have delivered another fully electric passenger ferry to the ship owner and operator DAB Vloot, part of MDK from the Flemish Government (Belgium). Op Stroom is a 30-meter catamaran passenger ferry and it will be the first fully electric ferry in Antwerp. The Ferry 30 CAT Electric is designed for 150 passengers and 75 bicycles and has a top speed of 18 km/h. Op Stroom is equipped with Danfoss Editron electric hybrid system components and 395 kWh battery bank from Corvus Energy which enables ferry to sail for 4 hours at speed of 14 km/h. Ferry 30 CAT Electric is also equipped with solar panels which enable to cover vessel’s auxiliary energy needs from renewable energy source. All in all, Op Stroom is designed to be environmentally friendly and silent operator for inland waters. Baltic Workboats wishes her safe seas and many years of successful operation
