Another two vessels have set sail from Baltic Workboats shipyard to Flotte Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG, making them already the fourth and fifth vessel delivered to Port of Hamburg Operator within the last 12 months. The vessels started the delivery journey in the end of last week and are scheduled for final delivery in mid-December.
The two vessels — Pilot 17 WP and Patrol 29 WP Hybrid — further modernize the Hamburg’s municipal fleet with advanced engineering, reduced emissions, and versatile operating capabilities.
The Pilot 17 WP, a 17-meter pilot vessel, is built on Baltic Workboats’ wave-piercing platform and adapted for inland navigation. It is powered by Stage V emission-compliant engines and equipped with a dedicated navigation configuration suitable for confined waterways.
The Patrol 29 WP Hybrid is a 29-meter patrol vessel featuring a hybrid propulsion system designed to maintain optimal efficiency across the full operational speed range from zero to 25 knots. The vessel also incorporates a 440 kWh energy storage system, enabling low-emission and silent operations when required.
Project Complexity and Collaboration
According to project manager Aleks Notton, the current deliveries continue a line of technically challenging projects completed for the Hamburg customer.
The 24-meter and 29-meter hybrid patrol boats Bürgermeister Brauer, Bürgermeister Weichmann, and Bürgermeister Nevermann were the prime example of this:

Their detailed involvement, coupled with the extensive equipment required for vessels of this scale, made the project an exceptionally rewarding engineering achievement.”
